INMA Finance grants financing of 7 million dinars to Enda Tamweel

INMA Finance, a private debt vehicle dedicated to Tunisian companies, and Enda Tamweel

the leading microfinance institution in Tunisia, are pleased to announce the signing of a financing agreement worth 7 million dinars, intended to support the activities of micro-entrepreneurs.

Enda Tamweel has been supporting microcredit activity in Tunisia for 30 years. It is the leading microfinance institution in the country in terms of loans, clients, and branch network. Its wide territorial coverage and strong presence in rural areas, where access to financial services remains very limited, make Enda Tamweel a key player in the financial and social inclusion of disadvantaged populations and micro-entrepreneurs. Enda Tamweel operates through a network of 104 branches covering all Tunisian governorates, as well as 5 mobile units. Since its creation, Enda has supported more than one million people and granted nearly 4 million loans.
The support from INMA Finance will contribute to the financing of these micro-entrepreneurs and will also help ensure the sustainability of micro-enterprises and job creation in a context marked by an unfavourable economic environment, notably linked to the repercussions of the Coronavirus crisis.

On the occasion of this funding, Mr Mohamed Zmandar, Managing Director of Enda Tamweel, said: “Today we are formalising a new partnership which, I hope, will mark the start of a fruitful collaboration with a stakeholder fully committed to supporting financial and social inclusion. This funding will help boost the economy by stimulating job creation and encouraging self-employment, particularly among women and young people.
At a time when the effects of the health crisis are still being felt, this agreement can only further strengthen our connection with communities that lack access to finance.”

Ms Fatma Merai, Chief Executive of INMA Finance, added: “We are proud to be involved in financing the leading microfinance provider in the region. We support Enda Tamweel’s social mission and commend its role in financial inclusion, encouraging entrepreneurship and securing long-term employment, which aligns perfectly with INMA Finance’s strategy. We hope this will be the first in a series of financing arrangements, to be followed by further financial agreements in the future, as part of a long-term partnership.”
